Richard Dunford, Chair of International Business at University of Sydney

Professor Dunford is the Chair of International Business and Professor of Business Strategy at Sydney University. Professor Dunfords research on strategy, change, organisational structures and innovative business models has appeared in a number of prestigious publications including the Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Review, Organization Studies, Journal of Organizational Behavior and Journal of Management Studies.

As a consultant, he has worked with a wide range of organisations in regard to strategy, change and executive development. Prior to joining the Faculty as a Professor of Business Strategy and Chair of the Discipline of International Business, he was Professor and Chair of Strategic Management at Macquarie Graduate School of Management where he held a range of other senior appointments including Deputy Dean and Interim Dean.

Robert Matthew Barrie (Matt), Entrepreneur

Matt Barrie is a technology entrepreneur as founder and CEO of Sensory Networks Inc., the leading developer of OEM high performance network security processors, and cofounder of Dilithium Networks Inc., the global leader in converged video solutions for mobile and broadband networks with over 60% market share in media gateways. At Sensory, Mr. Barrie took the company from its genesis to over 70 employees, operating in four locations worldwide and supplier to vendors of network and security equipment including McAfee, LG, Astaro and others. He is currently a director of Julius Finance, Inc., a New York based provider of advanced analytics for the structured finance and credit derivatives markets.

Mr Barrie has raised over $32M USD in financing from venture capital, strategic investors and through government grants. Mr. Barrie for the last eight years has also been an external lecturer at the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering at the University of Sydney. He holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, California and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is the co-author of over 20 US patent applications. In 2006, Mr. Barrie was awarded the State Pearcey Award for contribution to the ICT industry.

Lorne Wood-Roe, Patent Attorney at Adams Pluck

Lorne is a registered Australian Patent and Trade Marks attorney with over 12 years experience and a partner of Adams Pluck. Lorne is skilled in providing strategic advice in the utilization of intellectual property rights to the best advantage of his clients. Having worked in the R&D department of an ultrasound medical device manufacturer, and as a production engineer for a manufacturer of surveillance cameras, Lorne became involved in patents by establishing and coordinating the patent searching operation of a large patent firm in the United Kingdom.

With a broad background in mechanics, electronics, physics and computing, Lorne deals with patent matters across a wide range of technologies including mechanical devices of all types, medical equipment, and computer hardware and software. Lorne has a personal interest in sustainable living and works closely with companies involved with renewable energy, water re-use and conservation.

Roger Price, General Partner at Innovation Capital

Roger joined Innovation Capital in 2006. He brings a depth of operational experience including senior engineering, manufacturing, IT services and international business development roles for a number of technology based companies across a range of industries. Prior to joining Innovation Capital Roger was the Chief Executive Officer of Reino International, an Australian venture backed start up providing innovative and technically advanced parking solutions to the global market. Whilst at Reino he oversaw the growth of the business from 30 to 300 people, relocated the headquarters to the US and led an aggressive M&A program which resulted in the acquisition and integration of 4 companies in 2 years.

Roger has worked for both multinationals and start-up organisations. He commenced his career at Alcatel, has held senior positions with a number of Australian owned technology businesses and run the Aus/NZ businesses of NASDAQ listed software companies. He has held board positions for a number of these and other technology companies. He has a broad interest in Australian based technology, with direct experience within the areas of IT services, software, telecommunications, mobile services and electronic device manufacturing.

Aisea Laungaue, Head of Industry at Saatchi & Saatchi

Aisea is a strategic planner at Saatchi & Saatchi in Sydney. Aisea is a young leader at Saatchis, creating from scratch a new division at Saatchis Industry whilst still in his twenties. He works with global brands like Toyota, Lion Nathan and P&G. Aisea has extensive real-world experience and a strong appreciation for great ideas.
